Condolence From: Marie Avey
Condolence: Muriel and I were together in school in the Norwich area for at least seven years (Grades 4 to 11, first at Quaker St. and then at Norwich District High School.)We were good,(although competitive) friends. I am so glad we were able to keep in touch. Janet Slater,a mutual friend, was far better at writing letters than I but always shared Muriel's responses to her efforts. When I did send a card to Muriel in later years when we were both retired, I was rewarded with replicas of her original paintings.I was so glad to share rather long phone talks with Muriel in recent months and to visit her in her home in September. I will always treasure these memories as I will those from the 50's. Carol and Glenn, you have my deepest sympathy.Your mother was a genuine person. Her high degree of intelligence and her accomplishments did not spoil her in any way. I will miss her and I know how much you and her beloved grandchildren will, to say nothing of the loss felt by Larry, David and Collin.
