Dr. William Malcolm Graham known to many simply as “Doc Bill”, born 27 March 1923 died peacefully in his sleep at home on 23 Aug 2016. Predeceased by his father and mother Dr. Foster Graham and Nyhl (Hetherington). Also predeceased by his wife Evelyn (1978). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sheila; children William, Robert (Wendy), Heather (Robert LeCraw), and Mary Rose (Keith Finley); grandchildren Christa (Mike), Robin (Paul), Philip (Elizabeth), Dawn, Meghan, Katherine, Sarah; great grandchildren Evelyn and Amelia Graham. ‘Doc Bill’ lived all of his life in Fenelon Falls and Sturgeon Point. As a physician and surgeon he practiced medicine in both private (until 1980) and later hospital practice at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay for 50 years. He was always proud to meet someone and later say, “That was one of my babies”. He was also a farmer and enjoyed raising and caring for his cattle on the family farm just about as much as he enjoyed caring for his patients. He was a long standing member of the Masonic Lodge, a very active member of the Rotary Club and served on the board of FAILA. He was a philanthropist, a cousin and a friend. The family would like to express thanks to the Lindsay Access Centre, Palliative Care nurse Shannon and Dr. Ready for all their help in keeping Bill at home. Visitation will be held at Jardine Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Centre in Fenelon Falls on Friday Aug. 26 from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Service will be held at Fenelon Falls United Church Saturday Aug. 27, at 1:00 p.m. with interment at the Fenelon Falls Cemetery immediately following the service.
