JONES, Eli Wesley:
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a great husband, father and grandfather on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Eli, in his 99th year was the much loved husband of Elsie(Purdy) for 69 years. He was the beloved father of Allan(Kathy), Glen, Deborah(George), Philip(Laurie) and Brant(Carolyn). He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Eli was pre-deceased by siblings Stella(Ellwood)Bowen and Cliff Jones. He is survived by sister-in-laws Ruth Jones, Gladys(Purdy)Wilson and brother-in-law Hank Purdy. Eli purchased his first farm in 1945 where he and Elsie raised their family and Elsie continues to live. He purchased his first Hereford cow in 1953 and continued to raise Herefords until his death. he was very proud of his cattle and loved to show with his children at the local fairs. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Eli's life on the evening of Friday December 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m at Fenelon Falls United Church in the church hall. In honour of Eli, please plan to attend in casual attire. A private family funeral with interment at Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Salvation Army Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
