Condolence: I'm so very sorry to hear about Bernie. I only knew Bernie as a customer but after 30 years I considered him a friend. I learned a lot about him and his family in that time and I know he was a great husband, father, grandfather, and a great man. I'm honored to have known him. Bernie will be missed.

Condolence: Dear Kahnert family, It was with great sadness that I read the obituary for your beloved husband, father and grandfather. I remember the family well from my time as Principal at St John’s Scholl in Kirkfield, where the children attended school. A lovely man with a lovely family. Such a sad loss at such an early age. He will long be remembered as a kind, decent, loving person. I shall keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Terri Armstrong

Condolence From: Patrice Barker( Kahnert)
Condolence: I am so sad to hear about my cousin, Bernie. Oh the stories and memories I have of our ski trip to Jay Peak Vermont in high school. Bernie was playing Batman by climbing up the balconies of the resort. It was only 3 floors so not that crazy. I haven't seen him in a while but agree with my other cousins, Pat and Stephen that he was one of the happiest Kahnerts. Blessings to his family and my other cousins. Lots of love from Patrice

Condolence: It was a major shock to read of Bernie’s death, a cousin with a great smile, terrific siblings (girls ruled on the rink!) plus Al and Alice and Bernie’s singular grandma, Mimi. A pantheon. Heartfelt hopes for his family from mine in Chicago. I will wear my loudest summer shirt and cool flip flops all Friday. And toast Bernie often.

Condolence: Laura and I are saddened by the sudden loss of Bernie, a mischievous, fun-loving family guy who was always ready to lend a hand and to show up for a celebration. Over the 45 or so years we have been friends, he has brought many a smile to those around him. He had a such big heart and it was always great to see him and Bonnie at their visits to the Red Roof. We will miss him dearly. Our condolences and thoughts are extended to Bonnie and their children and grandchildren at this time. Teeder & Laura
