Obituary for Glenn Littleton Quibell

Glenn Littleton  Quibell
Passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Glenn Quibell in his 98th year was the beloved husband of the late Muriel Quibell (nee Brokenshire). Pre-deceased by his parents Arthur and Pearl Quibell and by five brothers and two sisters Loved dearly by his many nieces and nephews. At Glenn's request there will be no funeral. A memorial will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #238, Fenelon Falls on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.. Arrangements entrusted to JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, Fenelon Falls. If desired memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #238 Fenelon Falls or the Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. Life Story for Glenn Littleton Quibell

Glenn,affectionately known as Unk was born in Fenelon Falls and at the age of three his family moved to Toronto.When he was 20 he enlisted in the Canadian light anti aircraft military unit and eventually served in WW 2 and survived the infamous Dieppe raid.
After the war he married Muriel Brokenshire and they lived in Toronto where he owned and operated a Shell Service Station for many years. In 1980 they retired in Fenelon Falls and Muriel passed away in 1989.
Unk enjoyed simple pleasures.He liked shopping at "the mall",having lunch at the Legion and monthly trips to Rama.Weekly computer lessons and darts with Diana were always looked forward to.He loved his Honda Fit and his cat Audrey.

He will be missed by many.Rest in peace Unk.
