John Park passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, April 18, 2019. John was a devoted husband to Verna for 60 years, a loving father to Rick (Robyn), Sam (Tony), Janice (Allan), Jenn (Ty), cherished grandfather to Jaclyn (Tyler) and Alexx. He was a very special uncle to the Lewis Kids. John retired from Ontario Hydro after 36 years of service. John and Verna started square dancing in 1968 and John started calling in 1978 and Verna cued the rounds. John and Verna retired from calling in May, 2018. They served on The Toronto & District Executive and Convention Committees for many years. They were awarded the Trillium Merit Award in 1996 for their contribution and dedication to square and round dancing. Through square dancing they made many lasting friendships. When they were not dancing, John enjoyed spending time with his family at the cottage. A Celebration of Life will be held for John and Verna on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. at the Senior Citizen’s Club of Fenelon Falls at 58 Murray St., Fenelon Falls, Ontario.
